A quick blog to say ‘hello’ and introduce the person behind the brand. The brand ‘Sofiera’ launched in December 2021.
The person behind the brand myself Kamani, a mother of two in her 40’s who decided in 2021 to give up the rat race after a 21 year stint with a Corporate Company in London and become a stay at home mum. Family had to come first.
My passions include health, well-being, beauty and music to name a few. A trained Mental Health First Aider, mental well-being is something I hold close to heart.
Born and raised in the UK, to immigrant parents who arrived in the UK in the 60’s and 70’s from Sri Lanka. The daughter of a chef and having a mother who had a natural flair for cooking and growing up with the Hard rock Family in London it was inevitable I would turn into a-bit of a foodie as well. Living with my Slovakian partner there really will be a multi ethnic flair we bring to our brand.
The Covid Pandemic reignited my passion for the Arts and along with doing endless craft activities and workshops with the kids over lockdown. The flame was lit and Sofiera was created.
A family run business inspired by our love of the arts. You will find a online t-shirt and gift store which will show case some of our handcrafted t-shirt designs. It doesn’t stop there however as there are many more ideas in the pipeline. Our very own in-house artist nine year old Nicholas will soon be showcasing some of his adorable creations. Watch this space and see the collection start to grow. Many of the designs will include positive affirmations, mottos… The English language and writing is another flickering flame and may make an appearance in some guise. There will also be commissioned work from artists and topics we hold dear which will form some of the special edition products we launch.
As a ‘start up’ it was important to really understand the core of our business values and one that we hold dear is Sustainability and the Environment. Our initial pledge is that at least 90% of our packaging will be recycled or from sustainable sources. We hope this is just the start of the commitment we hope to make.
We will also be announcing our support for a handful of charities that I hold dear to my heart and we hope to take part in some fundraising activities in the New year. Watch this space.
Finally I would like to welcome you personally to the Sofiera family. I truly hope we are able to share this journey of growth and development together.
